My name is Tomas Birkner de Miguel. I'm 24 years old, currently living in Salt Lake City, and I have a strong passion for skiing. After graduating from high school in 2015, I skied professionally for the Argentinian national team for more than three years. Today, I'm a senior at the University of Utah and a member of the Utes ski team. I’m planning to take a year off from college year to race and focus 100% my attention on attaining my lifetime goal of competing in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
I have been skiing professionally for more than eight years and have participated in four F.I.S. World Championships and several World Cups.
I’m currently a senior year at the “U” majoring in Business Administration and will pursue a master’s degree in Finance starting in the 2022.
Motivated to explore what the outdoors has to offer. I love mountain biking, hiking and camping.

On March of 2015, I participated in the Junior World Championships in Norway and took the 5th place in the U18 Slalom.
On March of 2015, I participated in the Junior World Championships in Russia and took the 16th place in the U21 Slalom.
My two biggest priotiries in life today are ski racing and my business degree. These two require a lot of time and determination. In-season implies a lot of traveling for training camps and racing. During off season, there is a less traveling, but that's when the physical training and catching up with the academics takes place. During my free time I really enjoy the outdoors. I have to say mountain biking is one of my favorite hobbies together with soccer, hiking and camping.
Ever since I was a kid my biggest goal was to one day make it to the Winter Olympics. Today, this is my main priority. After my life as a ski racer is over, I'd love to find a job in the Finance field. The perfect job would give me enough free time to keep enjoying the outdoors and my hobbies.
Since I grew up in Bariloche, Argentina, a town surrounded by mountains and lakes, my favorite thing to do in my time off is to explore the outdoors. My favorite way to do it has to be mountain biking. I also really enjoy playing soccer with friends, hiking and camping. Anyways, I enjoy anything that involves being outside.
